As part of Personalized and Insights product within Consumer & Community Banking, we are building a ML-powered recommendation engine platform to serve personalized content on mobile, web and other channels. You'll get to work on a consumer-facing product that uses high TPS micro-services, large streaming data, bandit and neural-network based recommendation algorithms, batch and real-time serving ML models and much more

Job responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
• Manage for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
• Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
• Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
• Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
• Leads teams to deliver engineering results with direct business and customer impacts, on time and on budget. Works has impact to immediate team and impacts additional teams and functions.
• Partners with product, architecture, and other engineering teams to define scalable and performant technical solutions.
• Leverages deep technical expertise to design extensible and scalable solutions, and to coach and grow individuals and teams.
• Ensures team executes work according to compliance standards, SLAs, and business requirements, to meet the objectives of an initiative. Anticipates the needs of broader teams and potential dependencies with other teams.
• Proactively helps maintain high operational excellence standards for our production systems. Encourages development of technological methods and techniques within team.
• Coaches agility lead and team to effectively leverage Agility practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
• Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Practical cloud native experience
• Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
• Experience leading at least two scrum teams of technologists. Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives.
• High throughput, low latency micro service development leveraging AWS services such EKS, ECS, Fargate, ELB, etc.
• High throughput near real time stream processing with services such Kinesis, Flink, ECS, EKS, etc.
• Prior hands-on coding experience with two or more of Java, Python, SQL

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience with recommendation and personalization systems is a plus
• Experience working at code level
• High volume feature engineering with services such EMR.
