Managed Service Architect, Assurance Managed Services

Assurance Managed Services provides recurring non-audit services to our clients through three service offerings: finance, sustainability and forensics. Each offering consists of multiple solutions designed to meet specific market needs.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead the development of architectures for Assurance managed services;
  • Contribute to developing, maintaining and advocating Assurance Managed Services architectural principles, policies and standards;
  • Work with the Assurance, Global Managed Services and Client Technology teams to ensure our architecture is realized through investment projects and deals to deliver cross-cutting capabilities as well as data and technology assets;
  • Ensure our architecture aligns with, and leverages, the broader EY ecosystem and our alliance partner agreements;
  • Work with colleagues in Solutions, as well as domain, data and IT specialists to ensure new managed services are defined, designed and documented in-line with our architecture and standards;
  • Ensure managed services have clear configuration-only service options reflecting the variations in client requirements, and clearly defined deliverables and outcomes
  • Work with delivery, commercial and pricing teams to ensure we have cost and pricing models for our managed services that consider both the resources needed to provide a service and the value-add created through the process improvements we deliver
  • Support Assurance Managed Services Leadership to make appropriate business, technology and data decisions by recommending approaches to capability development that achieve reuse, sustainability, scalability, value for money and reduce risk;
  • Collaborate and consult with stakeholders to ensure business, technology and data decisions are aligned with our enterprise architecture as well as broader EY independence, risk management, quality and other requirements
  • Build awareness and understanding of the purpose, value and application of our architecture among the broad EY, client and alliance partner community involved in designing, developing and operating our managed services solutions
  • Carry out horizon scanning across industry, identifying emerging trends and their potential impact and opportunity for the organization

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • work across EY to identify and resolve commercial, vendor and legal issues relating to how we build and operate our solutions;
  • communicate effectively with, and mediate between, stakeholders at all levels. You can manage stakeholder expectations and moderate discussions about risk and complexity;
  • work with Offering Leaders, Product/Solution Owners and Business Product Managers to identify and rapidly unblock issues affecting solution, product and platform development;
  • develop a future state architecture aligned to our Assurance managed services strategy;
  • define principles, patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements;
  • provide direction and support to those responsible for building new capabilities, managing the launch of new solutions, and managing transitions when solution and product updates are deployed;
  • work effectively within the wider business, financial and technical governance within Assurance and the broader EY network;
  • demonstrate a strong understanding of EY and client issues and needs and can assess their short to long term implications for our solutions portfolio; and
  • manage the documentation of enterprise architecture to established industry standards using enterprise architecture software. Experience with ARIS would be an advantage.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience leading substantial business, data and/or technology programmes followed by at least 5 years in dedicated enterprise/business or data architecture roles; and
  • A sound understanding of technology architecture and the ability to act as an intelligent customer of technology architects, ensuring technology architecture aligns with our broader capability, business and data architectures;

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • a sound understanding of the products and services delivered by professional services organizations; and
  • a sound understanding of how managed services are developed and delivered.

What we look for:

  • Ability to operate effectively within a geographically dispersed team
  • Ability to influence and direct activities in a global network, balancing the need to drive forward our global strategy with the need to highly varied needs across countries and industry sectors
  • A strong team-player with coaching and mentoring skills who is keen to act as an advocate and community builder for enterprise architecture within Assurance and EY more broadly
  • Travel may be required from time to time to complete assignments and meet with organizational leaders, clients and stakeholders
