JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Mentorship of new supervisors; Support supervisor talent management within department
  • May be responsible for managing exempt direct reports (5C or lower level)
  • Directly supervises associates and performs other managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Strong understanding of the business and ability to apply concepts with limited direction
  • Ownership of on-boarding new supervisors and non-exempt new hires; Coach supervisors to improve departmental performance
  • Ability to work independently; Able to independently resolve most operations issues (customer requirements, facilities issues, technical problems) within set operations parameters, engaging Sr. Management as needed to escalate or revisit based on changing business requirements
  • Ownership of departmental metrics, escalating when appropriate
  • Ownership of updating and improving manufacturing policies; Implements manufacturing policies and delegates and disseminates instructions to staff
  • Lead cross functional teams or CI Kaizen projects in support of process improvement initiatives
  • Able to independently resolve most manufacturing operations and material distribution issues (customer requirements, material shortages, facilities issues, technical problems) within set operations parameters, engaging Sr. Management as needed to escalate or revisit based on changing business requirements
  • Represent the Manufacturing organization as the departmental subject matter expert; May include specific training or certification
  • Interfaces effectively with NNSA, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering and other support organizations
  • Develops, deploys and sustains the training needs for employee on the production floor and conformance to specifications
  • Proactively evaluates and executes on departmental needs related to requirements for staffing, equipment and training
  • Follows Honeywell policies, upholds professional standards, and performs all work in a manner respectful of others
  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established ES&H requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every associate has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified
  • Performs other responsibilities as needed
You Must Have
  • U.S. Citizen in order to obtain & maintain government security clearances
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Business or related technical field
  • Minimum 5 Years relevant experience in a related role

  • Working knowledge of production planning methods and manufacturing and quality operations is preferred. May additional certification and/or experience for certain manufacturing departments.
  • Understanding of team building and group dynamics including conflict resolution and problem solving skills. Ability to lead and motivate in a diverse work environment.
  • Demonstrated reading, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills necessary to train, organize, and facilitate teams.
  • Strong organizational skills. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft office applications, including: MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
