As a member of this dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in developing, optimizing, and maintaining build-focused CI/CD solutions on top of the OpenShift Container Platform. In this role, you will work on creating robust and scalable systems for containerized builds, empowering developers with next-generation container image build toolkits, and contributing to the core of Red Hat’s cloud-native CI/CD workflows. You will play a vital part in delivering a reliable and secure experience for developers deploying applications on OpenShift.
What will you do
Design, develop, and maintain core OpenShift Build features, focusing on reliability, scalability, and performance for cloud native CI/CD.
Build and optimize components of the build pipeline, including integration with Kubernetes, Tekton, and related CI/CD tools.
Drive technical direction and architecture discussions, ensuring the product aligns with OpenShift’s broader strategy.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, security, documentation, and other engineering teams to deliver robust and secure build solutions.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues affecting the Builds for Red Hat OpenShift product.
Contribute to upstream open source communities such as Shipwright (https://shipwright.io) , representing Red Hat’s vision and maintaining compatibility with the broader cloud native ecosystem.
What will you bring
Experience in software engineering, ideally in cloud-native or distributed systems.
Programming experience in a compiled language, such as Golang, Java, C++, or Rust.
Understanding of Docker/containers, CI/CD principles, and container orchestrators like Kubernetes.
Experience working with build systems or CI/CD tools like Tekton, GitOps workflows.
Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and open-source mindset.
Willingness to learn new technologies and make an impact.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Practical knowledge of git and related source control management systems (ex: GitHub, GitLab).
Experience contributing to open source projects and familiarity with open source software development processes is an advantage.
