Job Responsibilities
- Networking and Device Management :
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot network equipment, especially Fortinet products such as FortiSwitch, FortiGate, FortiManager , and related devices.
- Ensure the efficient operation of data center networking infrastructure, including routing, switching, and security devices.
- ISO 27001/SOC2 Compliance :
- Support security audits by collecting and presenting evidence to demonstrate compliance with SOC2 and ISO 27001 (ISO27K) standards.
- Maintain documentation for security processes and audit procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Data Center Infrastructure :
- Work with data center infrastructure management software and oversee cabling, installation, and maintenance of passive equipment in racks and data centers.
- Provide hands-on support for hardware installations and infrastructure optimizations.
- CI/CD Implementation and Management :
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automating the build, testing, and deployment of the Internet services.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :
- Orchestrate the development and management of IaC frameworks to automate provisioning of operating systems, applications, and network infrastructure.
- Automation :
- Automate repetitive tasks using tools like SaltStack, Ansible, and Terraform to improve operational efficiency.
- Linux System Administration :
- Proficiently administer Linux servers across distributions such as Ubuntu , Red Hat , and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) .
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting :
- Monitor performance metrics of servers, VMs, containers, applications, and network components to ensure optimal operation.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with network infrastructure, security appliances, servers, and storage systems.
- On-call Support :
- Provide on-call support for critical services to ensure high availability.
- Supervise Service Deployment Globally :
- Occasionally travel to colocation facilities as required, sometimes on short notice.
Job Experience and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Technologies or related fields.
- 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiManager).
- Proficiency in data center infrastructure management, including cabling, rack management, and hardware installations.
- Familiarity with in CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
- Proficiency in automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, SaltStack).
- Familiarity in scripting languages like Bash or Python.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Prometheus).
- Knowledge of industry-standard protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, LDAP, HTTPS, SNMP, SAML).
- Familiarity with security standards and best practices (SOC2, ISO 27001).
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting skills and documentation.
- Highly organized, with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for extended periods (up to 2 weeks at a time).
Bonus Experience
- Fortinet certifications, including NSE4 or higher and FCP (Fortinet Certified Professional) , are highly desirable.
- Security-related certifications, such as CISSP , CISM, CISA, CEH , or OSCP , are a strong advantage.
- Experience with Network Automation protocols such as NETCONF or Python/Go programming languages.
- Prior experience running and maintaining a 24/7 global service.
- Familiarity with GitOps tools like Flux is a big plus.
The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $85,000 - $115,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
