This position requires a candidate that can operate in an ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in multiple engineering disciplines. This role will interface closely with Program, Engineering (HW/SW), Manufacturing, Quality, Product Support and Operations across a broad range of technical areas to enable robust configuration management mechanisms across Prime Air's ecosystem. This person will be required to articulate when gaps are identified and propose solutions quickly.A day in the life
As a Prime Air Senior Configuration Management specialist, you’ll find yourself at the intersection of engineering, systems, and execution. On any given day, you might:- Facilitate change request working sessions to improve process workflows to help streamline integration efforts.- Translate technical requirements into roadmap input for PLM or PDM systems- Provide input to executive reviews on how configuration decisions affect vehicle effectivity and delivery timelines
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, related field, or industry equivalent experience
- 6+ years of relevant work experience, with 5+ years in a Aerospace environment
- Experience in configuration management/control of complex integrated hardware/software systems
Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with PLM, ERP, MES and CAD systems used in Aerospace, or Automotive design.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies applied to hardware development.
- Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Experience in Export compliance classification
- Experience with DO-254C Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware
- CM2 and/or EIA-649C certification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
- Experience working within Aerospace Regulatory Environments
