Job Purpose:

You will play an important part in helping to support the lifecycle of a trade by working closely with Business partners, Client’s, and internal stakeholders to ensure all transactions flow through our front to back Operations teams, with no issues.

You will develop a broad and detailed understanding of the Organization’s landscape, culture, processes,

and Technology. You will have the opportunity to recommend creative suggestions on how to improve processes to minimize losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risk better serve our Clients

Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical and administrative support to Front Office Sales and Trading specifically related to the debt capital markets (DCM) syndicate business.
  • Manage position records and risk limits in coordination with both Citi trading desk, as well as coordinating with counterparties across the syndicate.
  • Assist with both trade capture and trade processing for both businesses, as well as managing Front to Back reconciliations, identifying any operational risk, and assisting with any trade confirmation and settlement queries.
  • Assist with the onboarding and set up of new issuer clients, and manage the close out and revenue distributions following the successful execution of a deal.
  • May require occasional after business hours support for late night deal pricing.
  • Utilize data analysis tools and methodologies to make recommendations to senior management to support process improvement.
  • Design and analyze complex reports to support/control activities and make recommendations based on identified trends and facts.
  • Interpret data and recommend the launch of new products/ services or upgraded platforms that support pre-settlement processes and transaction capture functions.
  • Provide informal guidance and/or on-the-job-training to new team members.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Accountable for integrity of process, operations, and end results. Implements a successful risk/control environment related to collateral and/or margin processes.

  • Providing input into initiatives to continuously improve straight through processing (STP) rates, including the use of robotics, workflow, and other innovative re-engineering technique.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably with experience working in a financial services role where you have had to be analytical, process oriented and delivered change.
  • Experience participating in delivery of change programs in some capacity and demonstrating business analysis and requirement writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders of different levels of seniority and from different areas of firm.
  • Motivation and intellectual curiosity to learn about the full ‘front-to-back’ process and related teams’ over time to be more effective, rather than just thinking ‘inside the box’ of your direct function.
  • Requires analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources.
  • Ability to build relationships.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Strong risk management and control mindset.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience preferred
