What You'll Do

As a Senior Database Administrator in Cisco’s Collaboration Business Unit, you will:

  • Maintain the production database health and perform end-to-end DBA activities
  • Solve database issues and provide solutions for resolution
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate data across multiple systems
  • Develop and maintain scripts for the automation of database tasks
  • Implement and maintain database security and access controls
  • Monitor database performance and optimize the database for efficiency and scalability
  • Develop and implement database backup, periodical database audits, and recovery strategies

Who You'll Work With

You'll be a member of the DBA team and your primary work is to monitor the production databases. You will be working along with other teams like L1, L2, and development teams.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 + years of work experience in the Production Postgres DBA domain maintenance and resolving role and 1 year Oracle DBA.
  • 3+ years with standard DBA activities like installation, configuration and solving issues
  • 1+ years Ability to collaborate independently on critical issues with clients and provide root cause analysis. Good understanding of 3-tier application architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Elasticsearch database knowledge
  • Professional practical experience in Terraform, Ansible
  • Basic scripting skills with Unix Shell Scripting, PowerShell, Python
  • AWS or Any Cloud Knowledge
  • Hardening of databases and implementing database standard methodologies
  • Experience with Database refresh and clone activities
  • Strong Knowledge of Database Backup and recovery and logical backups.
  • Worked with ADDM/ASH/AWR reports and performance tuning.
  • Strong skills in Linux, and Ubuntu
  • Work experience solving real-time problems
  • Work experience managing large production systems
  • Good communication skills
