Job Overview

The Senior Network Architect is responsible for development and adoption of new network technologies, lead major technology projects / initiatives. Work with Network Services Pillar Leads to establish the clear future state of our “Intent-Based” network services that is in line with Industry best ractices.

Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of current network architecture and design to identify issues / limitations with our current network services, in terms of stability, availability, performance and time to market.

• Work with Network Services Pillar Leads in Edge Network, Data Center, Backbone Network Domains to establish the clear future state of our “Intent-Based” network services that is in line with Industry Best Practices.

• Work with other Network Architects to build solutions to transform our network from current state to future state, in the following areas:

  • Network-as-a-Service

    • Drive innovation by researching and recommending new technologies to modernize network with “Self-Services” model.

  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)

    • Build modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices across Network Services

      • Work with engineering team to review the architecture design to avoid single point of failures.

      • Modernize change management process with CI/CD pipeline to achieve the required resilience objectives with Network Change team and Network Automation team.

      • Enhance observability capability with Network Tools team and Network Operation team.

  • Security and Compliance:

    • Develop and implement solutions to automate network management processes to meet with Citi Network Security Standards as well as compliance requirements.

    • Implement zero trust security principles to enhance network security and protect against cyber threats.

• Drive adoption of new technologies, lead major technology projects / initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in network architecture design and implementation.

• Experience with network virtualization, software-defined networking (SDN), and cloud networking.

• Strong automation technologies with development skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Industry certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.

• Experience in financial services or large complex and/or global environment preferred

• Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication with ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience

• Proven ability to develop projects required for design of metrics, analytical tools, benchmarking activities and identification of best practices

• Proven analytical, diagnostic and prioritizing skills with focus on execution and attention to detail

• Demonstrated ability to both work independently and partner with virtual teams in a high-pressure matrix environment

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of various parts of a project/initiative with tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectation/ requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
