Job Summary:

In this role, you will assist the production supervisors coordinate material handler activities to ensure the uninterrupted flow of raw materials to the manufacturing process along with accurate traceability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help ensure Material Handlers maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Lead material handlers by example of proper work ethics and techniques.
  • Exhibits excellent attendance habits by being punctual and reliable.
  • Conforms with and abides by all company regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Provide a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work and maintaining high quality professional standards.
  • Help develop material handling techniques and training programs that teach proper material handling skills.
  • Assist in the scheduling and hands-on training of material handlers.
  • Assist in the setup of new material handling equipment and training for them.
  • Help material handlers understand and follow “First In First Out” rules.
  • Ensure Material handlers maintain proper traceability and follow “Transact then Act” principals.
  • Assist in the investigation of material contamination issues to determine the root cause and implement corrective actions to prevent them.
  • Assists with scheduling and staging of raw material to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Schedule the drop-off and pick up of recycling trailers and oversee the Material Handlers loading of the trailer.
  • Assist with warehouse activities as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce scrap, cycle times, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by their supervisor or manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education or Equivalent Experience: High School or equivalent
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 6 months prior materials experience.
  • Experience with cGMP practices related to ISO standards and medical device manufacturing.

Travel Requirements:

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to work assigned shift(s) with overtime as required to complete assignments if necessary.
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods may occur as well as getting to and from offices and building sites.
  • If specifically necessitated by customer requirements, must be able to see with or without corrective lenses and distinguish color differences for product and safety issues.
  • Hearing ability should be sufficient to hear and react to audible alarms from distances up to 150 feet.
  • The ability to lift and carry various items up to 50 pounds at a time.
