Your key responsibilities

You'll work with our clients' risk management, C suite, operations and other groups to assist the client to recover from property damage and business interruption losses. This will include providing comprehensive financial, economic and strategic advice to companies with complex disaster recovery and insurance claims.

• Take responsibility for high quality execution and delivery of specific parts of the engagement
• Oversee multiple projects ensuring the work meets the client’s needs
• Develop yourself and others through seeking and offering on-the-job coaching
• Use technology to continually learn and share your knowledge with other team members
• Nurture relationships with professionals in other service lines and seek opportunities to work together
• Maintain a strong focus on the client and be responsive to their requests


• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, Finance, Engineering or related field, supported by 5 to 8+ years’ related experience
• 5-8+ years experience as a commercial property insurance adjuster
• Experience with +$10M property damage & business interruption losses
• Experience with catastrophic losses (such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes)
• Achieved, or working towards a professional designation, such as CPA, CFA, CFE, PE
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize when working on multiple engagements
• Experience leading teams across multiple projects
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the confidence to communicate complex technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders
• The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
• Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations


• Relevant FEMA, disaster management experience, preferably with a professional services firm.


What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $103,800 to $190,400. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124,500 to $216,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
