Key job responsibilities
- Lead acceptance test (environmental, functional, and performance) campaigns for Kuiper phased-array antenna systems.
- Support qualification test (environmental, functional, and performance) campaigns for early Kuiper phased-array antenna system designs
- Plan, develop, document and execute assembly and test operations to validate phased array antenna systems for flight to meet Kuiper production build rates.
- Bring-up, test and troubleshoot complex antenna PCBA’s at the board level.
- Analyze test failures to ensure defects are fully understood and provide design recommendations for the product to increase performance, reliability, and yield.- Specify, procure and set up antenna test cell layouts for the production floor.
- Write technical specifications for antenna assembly and test from scratch.
- Must be willing to work off shifts and weekends as required.

About the team
As a Manufacturing Test Engineer at Project Kuiper, you will be directly responsible for testing, qualifying and troubleshooting phased array antennas for the Kuiper broadband internet satellite. You will utilize innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology to solve difficult manufacturing and engineering problems on a daily basis, at both a systems and specialized level. You will be a critical lynchpin between the engineering, operations, tooling, supply chain and quality teams, and help lead production on the assembly line as well as new production introduction. You will provide vital manufacturability input to the design engineering teams for both new and existing hardware. Finally, you will be responsible for standing up new processes, equipment, and assembly lines to support Kuiper’s aggressive build ramp, making data-driven decisions at each step in the process.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's Degree in a related Engineering field
- 2+ years of test experience with antennas, electrical systems, PCBA's and/or embedded software
- 2+ years of hands-on test, assembly, and/or fabrication experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 1+ years of experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging RF electronics
- 1+ years of programming experience in Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB
- 1+ years of experience with environmental testing
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and computer networking
- Experience with complex products in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Strong organizational, analytical, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
