Job Summary:
This role is a key part of the newly created Digital Manufacturing Pillar which will focus on the development and deployment of a WEST digital strategy that encompasses the selection and use of the most appropriate digital solution that bring greatest benefit to our business. The role will involve capturing the Manufacturing/Operations/Engineering/Functional “voice of customer”, helping scope out most prudent digital solution to meet customer need, managing associated OT-IT programs - working with Digital & Transformation (D&T) and outside vendors where appropriate to deliver on time and within budget. It will be expected that you build a strong collaborative mindset with D&T and stakeholders and manage expectations realistically and effectively. You will also be required to foster positive synergistic external relationships with other manufacturers, vendors, research bodies, industry groups and Government financial subsidy bodies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand the Operational Technology – Information Technology (OT-IT) requirements of all manufacturing locations within your region and collate this in a well-structured dynamic model.
- Assist with regular prioritization of programs through close collaboration with Process, Equipment Engineering & Automation.
- In conjunction with D&T, determine the best digital solution for site projects with vendors and end users.
- Scoping of projects and formal program management through the PMO.
- Execution of programs to required quality, cost and timeline expectations.
- Educate stakeholders on digital technologies.
- Ensure global standardization of digital systems where appropriate.
- Support assessment of sites digital maturity and development of an appropriate framework/model.
- Ensure digital system compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science and/or Information Systems, Manufacturing Automation and Technology.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, automation and/or information technology in an automated production manufacturing operations environment.
- Proven success implementing complex manufacturing OT IT systems integration.
- Deep Knowledge of manufacturing processes, and relevant technologies.
- Proven experience leading day-to-day project activities across multidisciplinary teams (e.g., operations experts, data scientists, solution architects, etc.) to ensure timely execution of project deliverables and outcomes.
- Developed understanding of OT technologies including MES, PLC, IIoT.
- Extensive operations experience – preferably in Med device/regulated sector/Drug delivery & containment manufacturing.
- Multistakeholder complex program management.
