  • Develops and/or enables front end design solutions, technical prototypes, tooling, and/or user interface systems (e.g., controls, animation libraries, utilities). Builds out design components (e.g., responsiveness, microinteractions, register-transfer level) with code so they can be used by engineers. Contributes to architecting technical solutions and developing increasingly complex architecture. Focuses on the user experience, incorporating elements that react to user interactions. Leverages techniques to make designs accessible, performance oriented, and reusable.
  • Generates ideation solutions for complex products (e.g., involving many constraints, requiring holistic view of interconnected systems) through design meetings to improve product designs. Utilizes a variety of perspectives when ideating (e.g., Technology, Business, Marketing). Synthesizes complex ideation solutions to a concise articulation of user wants and subsequent solutions. Facilitates enrollment for an ideation exercise as part of a design sprint.
  • Creates clarity for other members of the team, and begins influencing the prioritization of the product backlog and sprint management. Defines and prioritizes product plans based on multiple factors such as user insights and business needs. Begins to demonstrate intuition for product design needs. Identifies needs that are not spoken and includes them in end-to-end design plan and process. Develops a synthesis of user insights and compares to data to identify larger issues that may not be apparent for user desires. Collaborates with product owners and development team members to shepherd end-to-end experiences from concept to product shipment for products.
  • Develops functional prototypes to meet needs at hand (e.g., speed, depth, fidelity) and solve complex challenges, building on previous work and emphasizing efficiencies. Presents to teams (e.g., Design and Engineering) and/or customers to receive feedback and form a partnership for iterations. Seeks to understand user needs and propose a design prototype, evaluate its usefulness, and determine next steps to ensure optimal product designs. Advocates forprototyping. Works with developers to iterate further on designs during implementation to ensure optimal designs. Demonstrates ability to challenge limitations, negotiate with Engineering, adjust Engineering schedules, find alternatives, and make case for designs to be implemented in a certain way.
  • Builds and maintains tools and platforms to enable efficiencies across teams. Oversees versioning of tools and platforms, ensuring interoperability. Synthesizes feedback on customer needs, both internally and externally. Drives efforts to solve problems and help others be more efficient. Proactively connects Design and Engineering with tools and platforms. Shares tool updates to keep teams up to date and to enable team improvements. Builds value into tools and platforms already available (e.g., Figma plugins, Storybook). Ensures the use and adoption of latest tool updates in the industry and/or makes a case for acquiring a new set of tools.
  • Ensures the use and adoption of the latest codebases and design systems (e.g., content templates, icons, form design, UI controls, navigation models. Gathers updates in the industry and/or makes a case for acquiring systems. Helps others use codebases and systems, and drives consistency and alignment within the team.
