Your impact

Working within a team of over 70 Land contamination specialists throughout the UK and Europe, providing strategic advice and innovative solutions to manage our clients’ environmental liabilities, in the role of Geo-Environmental Ground Investigation Delivery Lead you will lead, manage and support the delivery of complex projects on time and to budget, providing expert advice and ensuring compliance.

Remit and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement strategies and processes for managing the delivery of geo-environmental and geotechnical solutions.
  • Manage Jacobs’ Supplier Management processes and supply chains related to ground investigation, including pre-qualification of preferred suppliers against e.g. quality and HSE standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Prepare, review and issue tender documents, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to define project scopes, specifications and outputs.
  • Monitor procurement budgets, ensuring cost control and value for money throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage adherence to and compliance of all relevant legislation (health safety and environmental legislation, CDM Regulations and the discharge of (Principal Contractor duty holder role), regulations, standards, and best practices in procurement processes.
  • Conduct audits of supplier performance.
  • Provide safety leadership aligned to our Beyond Zero values and culture of caring.
Here's what you'll need

We would be delight to hear from candidates who have a blend of the following qualification and skills;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15years of ground investigation, engineering or remediation experience.
  • Excellent understanding of UK ground investigation contractual and commercial mechanisms (e.g. ICC, NEC), including good knowledge of procurement processes, and industry-relevant legal liabilities and case law.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant legislation, regulation, standards, and industry best practice, including relevant Industry/committee involvement such as AGS Working Group(s) or similar.
  • Demonstrable experience managing CDM Contractor duties, and experience of discharging Principal Contractor duties.
  • Collaborative negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Professional, relevant, safety certifications are advantageous.
