Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
- Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
- Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
- Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge
- 5+ years’ experience within the Telecommunications industry, preferably with a global tier 1 Telecommunications Service Provider or Hyperscaler in a Solution Engineer capacity.
- Deep understanding of optical theory and Layer 1 and 2 transport technologies, including DWDM, OTN, MPLS and Dark Fiber
- Knowledge of European, African, and Middle Eastern telecommunication providers, including both terrestrial and subsea
- Experience in planning and implementing transport solutions specific to cloud connectivity
- Broad knowledge of network and data center technologies including design and construction principles
