Mechanical Designer –STET IGT D
You are a part of
You will be responsible for driving meaningful and innovative product development, generating ideas/concepts in feature development to improve quality and reduce cost, as well as performing the role of a technical lead in taking the product development through manufacturing release while transferring products between suppliers
Responsibilities:
Independently execution on assigned supplier transfer & sustaining projects
Support global cross functional teams for SICR (E2E)
Medical class III device is preferred
Work with cross functional team to support SICR (Supplier initiated change request) execution (E2E)
Responsible for DFM and DFA activities & optimization of design for cost reduction.
Create DFMEA and identify relevant product risks.
Should have sound knowledge on Plastic part manufacturing, Injection mold process
Apply GD&T and perform Tolerance stack-up analysis for components/Sub-system.
Developing manufacturing specifications by using CAD tools like Solid works & Creo for modeling, assembly, detailing including drawing conversions & generating BoM.
Perform hand calculations to support the design and sound knowledge of Strength of Material.
Responsible for First Article Inspections and wherever required perform measurements.
Work with supplier, procurement engineer to complete the Prototype and qualifications.
Knowledge in Test fixtures design & development based on component/sub-system functionality.
Understand Requirements to design & perform unit level verifications to confirm with requirements.
Responsible for unit level testing and integration of unit in accordance with the higher-level Requirement and Design specifications / architectures.
Reliability and Serviceability of the system / subsystem / component.
Responsible for creating/updating DMR/DHF in the respective tools.
Effectively resolve customer complaints or production issues
Manage the internal and external stakeholders effectively
Manage the multi-disciplinary cross functional team (R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Service, Marketing, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory,) to realize results
Prepare, plan, track and coordinate cross functional teams located across geographies and manage project deliverable.
Coaching and supporting junior team members
Qualification
Completed engineering studies at university level; BE/BTech/ME/M-Tech in Mechanical
10-12 or more years of experience in Plastic Product design, Sheetmetal Design and Resolving issues in tools for Medical Devices
Proven design engineering experience leading cross-functional teams
Experience supporting global projects
Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Power Point, and Word required
Product Engineering, i.e. modules and parts in both metals and plastics; satisfying our aesthetic, functional and manufacturability requirements (e.g. DFM / DFA).
Exposure to CAD (Creo and Equivalent), Windchill PDM / PLM for managing lifecycle of the components.
Tolerance design and 2D drawing creation (part specification. Should be able to perform Tolerance stack up independently)
Familiar with latest engineering design and methods, tools, and processes.
Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently with timely guidance.
Result oriented team player.
Excellent communication skills and Positive ‘can do’ attitude.
Quality mindset in design and documentation
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
Familiar with the use of Product Data Management (PDM) systems
Hands on experience on Creo / Solid-works CAD Tools.
