Your Key Responsibilities
The nature of this role means no two projects will be the same. That means you’ll need to think on your feet and challenge existing practices to develop answers to complex issues. You’ll also be collaborating with colleagues across multiple service lines, so we’ll look to you to build relationships and identify opportunities for our clients to benefit from our knowledge in other areas. Occasional travel may be necessary as you will be meeting with key clients, some of whom are the most respected in their fields.
Work in multi-disciplinary teams across various industries, helping our clients use analytics to transform and improve their business.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of data governance solutions using strong technical understanding of data governance frameworks, tools and platforms.
- Actively establish and strengthen relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders to drive project success.Implement data governance as part of data and analytics projects, supporting the identification of data domains, owners and stewards within our clients organisations and working to embed data governance principles into data workflows.
- Apply proven technical experience of data governance tools (e.g. Azure Purview, Informatica, Collibra) to help clients manage metadata, data quality, data lineage, data retention and master data.
- Use a solid understanding of data management concepts, including data policies, data cataloguing, and data stewardship to help our clients create and enforce policies for effective data management.
- Carry out data profiling for clients with focus on data quality, classification, security, accuracy and completeness to help clients understand their data governance needs.
- Document governance-related deliverables, governance policies and governance processes concisely and effectively.
- Provide recommendations on data sharing rules and procedures, ensuring compliance with evolving data regulations.
- Stay informed on emerging trends in data governance and analytics, applying best practices to projects.
- Communicate data governance concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD Degree
- 7+ years of experience in data management and governance
- Understanding of technologies used in data governance and management (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.)
- People management experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop others, managing budgets, scope creep, expectations, deliverables, timelines, etc.
- Ability to communicate technical information in non-technical language.
- Highly professional with the ability to work in challenging, diverse, and evolving client environments.
- Passion for contributing to the team's growth and our Data Analytics practice.
- Data Governance or Data Management related certifications (e.g., from DAMA, EDMC)
Ideally, you will also have
- The ability to demonstrate keeping pace with industry trends and apply best practices to data strategy and operations.
- Strong experience in consulting, with the ability to provide strategic advice and practical solutions to business challenges.
