DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with our design consultants and internal customers to standardize our structured cabling and server room designs to accelerate delivery and lower cost across our portfolio of building launches. This role requires an experienced professional with a background in structured cabling and has experience of generating designs as well as providing effective oversight. The Design Engineer/PM is expected to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive best practices and establish tools, and standards consistent with large corporate deployments. The candidate will be required to have more than a cabling background. It is expected they will also have a strong IT background with knowledge of other facets of an IT network, such as networking, WiFi, AV, Security, PDU, UPS and Smart Building technologies. Your experience will help us to drive continuous improvement and development for our infrastructure.As a member of this global team, you will engage with key stakeholders and vendors across various disciplines to ensure the ICT infrastructure is compliant with Amazon & Industry standards and ready for commencement of building occupation.

Identify and implement design opportunities to lower the cost to serveReview Request for Pricing and renegotiation of bidsUpdate budget tracking toolsRefine the current infrastructure design material in line with best practiceImplement design best practice and standards to deliver construction ready designsCoordinate supply chain forecastsFlexibility to work with stakeholders in different time zonesReview Design Consultant weekly progress reports and host update meetings.Identify risks on critical path and provide resolutionSupport Vendor Manager with QBR by providing operational metricsParticipate in the infrastructure life-cycle planning and design to align cabling roadmapsDevelop, track, and report project metrics as necessarySydney, NSW, AUS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BICSI Certification or internationally recognized equivalent7+ Years’ experience in delivery and coordinating corporate office fit outs from design concept through to deployment/construction and close out.7+ years Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experience7+ years of working experience with Audio Visual, WiFi, fiber optic components, copper cabling, and interconnect products, technologies, and standards7+ years of experience in Project Management
Ability to travel
