Key job responsibilities
•Provide critical network operations support to internal customers, dive deep into circuit performance to identify and troubleshoot chronic problems such as link flaps, outages and latency spikes.
•Conduct data acquisition and to support service assurance and performance management of the services provided by the suppliers.
•Develop mechanisms to automatically engage suppliers for chronic circuits.
•Develop mechanisms to track RFO’s for chronic circuits ensuring we don’t have repeat offenders and drive service improvement plans where appropriate.
•Deliver a solution to maintain carrier escalation matrices and up-to-date contact details.
•Influence carriers and work closely with them to open and adapt their ticketing system APIs to AWS requirements (ticketing and maintenance notifications).
•Build an effective process for working with the backbone business development team, the backbone provisioning team and the network operations team to ensure services are delivered and maintained per technical specifications and service level agreements.
•Create and review documentation and processes regarding recurring operational issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.
•Identify and drive opportunities to automate repeatable networking tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools
•Deliver availability, latency and utilization reports of the backbone network on a regular cadence.Sydney, NSW, AUS

- 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
- 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
- 4+ years of optical transport (L1/WDM) experience

- 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
