Reporting to the
What a typical day looks like:
- Oversees the work of assigned team employees.
- Addresses minor discipline problems with team members; refers more serious cases to the supervisor.
- Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new team members in partnership with the training specialist and team trainer.
- Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience.
- Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
- Inspects work performed by team members; ensures it meets specifications of blueprints.
- Tracks and logs workers time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
- Partner with supervisor or production manager to resolve any issues that arise within department.
- Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.
- Performs welding on material, as needed.
- Assists with the layout, positioning, alignment, and securing parts prior to fabrication.
- Determine required equipment and welding techniques, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
- Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 4 years’ experience in various welding processes (MIG, FCAW, SMAW, TIG, etc.)
- Prior experience in effectively leading a team of employees
- Certification required: AWS D1.1 FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding)
- Thorough understanding of welding processes including Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform work accurately.
- Knowledge of manufacturing, equipment maintenance, and safety management
- Reading comprehension skills with the ability to interpret and follow written directions, blueprints, and drawings including weld symbols.
- Basic math skills to meet technical specifications and measurements.
- Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding techniques including designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in various welding techniques.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to make jigs and setups
- Overhead crane operation a plus

Pay Range (Applicable to California) $20.70 USD - $28.46 USD Hourly
