Responsibilities
- Lead Quality Assurance/Material Testing for O’Hare and Midway capital programs, ensuring compliance with contract deliverables, commissioning, and processes.
- Enforce policies, procedures, and processes for the PMO, CMAR, and various Contractors.
- Oversee inspection and materials testing, ensuring contractors adhere to approved contract drawings, specifications, and current technologies.
- Assist in budgeting, invoicing, and auditing for all programs.
- Systematically audit contractor quality control organizations and address any non-conformance or quality issues.
- Review and comment on submittals and RFIs to support the PMO and designers.
- Serve as the point of contact for all QA/QC processes and protocols for Agency Construction Managers ACMs and CMARs.
- Develop and update the Quality Assurance Manual.
- Review and update airport construction management documents and confirm appropriate QA/MT and inspection staffing.
- Prepare Quality Assurance Plans for each project and establish program-wide documentation protocols.
- Develop or refine processes to ensure construction quality conforms to contract documents.
- Coordinate activities of the QA/QC Engineers and Field Inspection staff.
- Other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Director.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years of experience as a QA/QC Manager on large construction Programs
- Experience with construction project documentation, budgeting, invoicing, and auditing
- Advanced knowledge of construction QA/QC codes and standards
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Ability to work onsite full time (Mon-Fri) at O’Hare International Airport with the program management team
Ideally, you‘ll also have
- Certifications: CQM, CQA, etc.
