As the 2nd shift lead, you will be the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, and technical mentorship. You will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve complex issues, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the highest possible product quality. This role is crucial for scaling our manufacturing capabilities and reports to the Manager of Product Sustaining and Support Test Engineering.Key job responsibilities

- Serve as the on-site technical expert and primary escalation point for all 2nd shift manufacturing test operations.
- Provide real-time, hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex failures in robotic workcells, automated test equipment, and devices under test.- Drive production flow by resolving critical test issues efficiently, minimizing downtime, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Manage and report on shift-level KPIs, including First Pass Yield (FPY), equipment uptime, and test cycle times, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.- Aid in the development, validation, and implementation of new test strategies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor.- Propose and help validate design changes (DfM/DfT) that enhance product manufacturability, testability, and reliability.
- Document shift activities, technical issues, and implemented solutions to contribute to our knowledge base and training materials.
- Champion a culture of safety, ensuring all procedures are followed and promoting safe working practices during the shift.

- BS in Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related technical field
- 7+ years of manufacturing test experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
- Hands-on experience with industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, ABB, UR) and industrial automation systems (PLCs, VFDs/motion control)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with automated test equipment and robotics systems
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as LabVIEW/TestStand, Python.
- Demonstrated expertise in test strategy development for complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience in support or maintenance in manufacturing or field sustaining environment.
- Working knowledge of functional safety systems and electrical standards for industrial controls (e.g., ISO 13849, NFPA 79).
- Experience with machine vision, 3D sensing, and force/torque sensor integration in a test environment.
- Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES, such as Tulip, Proplanner) and quality management systems
- Experience developing & maintaining Automated Test Systems using LabVIEW/TestStand, Python, PLC ST/CodeSys or equivalent tools.
- Strong communication skills for conducting effective shift handovers and status reporting.
