Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Designing and building our next-generation Trading platform. Building and maintaining pipelines for efficient data processing and integration with external systems and APIs using Java technologies
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. Interfacing with external vendors providing FIX connectivity to all brokers, ECNs, and liquidity providers like Bloomberg, Tradeweb, MarketAxess, etc.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Strong technologist with experience developing in Java.
• Experience with concurrent in Java with microservices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and business requirements, with a focus on Java programming.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• AWS or other cloud certifications is a bonus. Experience of working in financial services, in a front-office environment is a bonus. Good to have Kotlin experience.
• Understanding of Asset Management and the investment management process is a bonus.
• Development experience in C#, HTML5 / JavaScript is a bonus. Deep and broad technology expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture, with current experience of Java, SQL & NoSQL databases, reactive and/or complex event processing is a bonus.
