Optimizes procurement processes by forecasting and managing inventory levels, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, supplies, and commodity products to support organizational goals.Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Forecast requirements and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock of materials, equipment, supplies, and commodity products, preventing shortages and overstock situations.
•Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, evaluate new vendors, perform financial analyses, negotiate terms of purchase, and ensure cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
•Resolve issues related to inventory, production schedules, or material shortages, and implement procedures to prevent future problems and enhance procurement processes.
•Analyze purchasing data, issue periodic reports on trends, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making and improve purchasing strategies.
•Check and approve invoices for orders placed, obtain certifications of delivery, ensure compliance with organizational policies, and develop and maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation.
NoEducation/Experience:Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 1+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
