About the Opportunity
Jacobs is committed to playing a leadership role in Global Energy Transition. Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing and we’re looking for a Principal Cable Engineer to help lead Jacobs to success.
Our Power and Energy team provides a range of services to our transmission and distribution clients. This includes work on transmission system assets, HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems and wind farms.
As part of our diverse team, you’ll be providing a range of services throughout the design process on all elements of HV cable systems (mostly from 132kV up to 500kV). This includes feasibility design through to the preparation of technical specifications, production of detailed construction drawings and design compliance checks for our major energy clients.
Your technical expertise will ensure design compliance and governance and you’ll be considered a trusted leader by clients and by the team, confidently interfacing with them throughout design phases. As a team leader you’ll enjoy working collaboratively with other members of the design team and encourage others to think innovatively in the way we deliver solutions to clients.
Work-life balance and flexibility is a key focus area for Jacobs. Our core design team is based across Jacobs’ offices in London, Birmingham, Reading, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow or Exeter. However, with offices throughout the UK, we can be flexible about location and are happy to discuss hybrid, part-time and flexible working hours to suit you and our business.
