About The Role

In this role, you will be designing tooling, creating policy, and defining best practices around cloud technologies and services. The role lends itself to a balance between software development, cloud architecture, and project management, as you will be involved in helping to define solutions for a wide variety of teams each with their own distinct use cases. You will need the ability to work seamlessly with both seasoned cloud architects and engineers who are brand new to cloud platforms.

Responsibilities will include

• Partner with the business to help plan and implement migrations to cloud platforms

• Develop tooling to automate the management of a large cloud ecosystem

• Design and deliver well-architected cloud solutions based on business requirements

• Strive to innovate and embrace a culture of continuous learning

• Partner with IT security to define and implement security best practices in the cloud

• Analyze cloud spend and recommend cost optimization opportunities

What we would love to see:

• 5+ years' experience as a systems engineer, developer, or solutions architect

• 2+ years' experience with a programming language (Python is what we use primarily)

• 3+ years' experience with public cloud platforms

• 3+ years' experience creating cloud based architectural designs

• AWS certifications

• 2+ years' experience with infrastructure as code design (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc)

• A strong background in cloud networking design

• Experience building web applications in Python

• IAM Principles / Authentication and Authorization

• Strong programming and automating capabilities

• Understanding of configuration management concepts and solutions

• Experience with database fundamentals and security best practices
