Your key responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and oversee audit engagements in compliance with PCAOB standards and SOX requirements, ensuring quality and effective project management.
- Lead and mentor audit team members, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
- Maintain current knowledge of changes in audit regulations and accounting standards, including PCAOB updates and SOX compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with clients to understand their business, risks, and controls, tailoring audit plans to their specific environment.
- Review financial statements and audit workpapers to ensure they meet professional and regulatory standards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Present audit findings and recommendations to clients and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines, with a focus on client service and quality deliverables.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Contribute to the firm's business development activities and internal initiatives.
To qualify for the role you must have:
- CPA or equivalent designation required.
- Minimum of 8 years of audit experience in a public accounting firm with significant SOX and PCAOB exposure.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing audit engagements and teams.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting, and financial statement presentation.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including proficiency in US auditing standards and practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients and team members at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to meet client commitments.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Additional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CIA can be a plus.
- Experience with Big 4 firm preferred.
- Specialized industry experience in Energy, Telecommunications, Mining, or Financial Services
