Your impact

We’re seeking a mid-level hydrogeologist to work on exciting environmental and water resource projects that involve subsurface characterization, analytical and numerical groundwater modeling, soil and groundwater remediation, water supply reliability, water well design, groundwater-surface water interactions, climate adaptation, managed aquifer recharge, aquifer storage and recovery, and subsurface drainage for a variety of clients located throughout the world. Based in Northern California (preferably near our Sacramento or Redding, California offices), you’ll bring your 2 years groundwater consulting experience to learn and grow in your career from experienced scientists, engineers, and project managers who are ready to mentor you to ensure you’re set up for success. You’ll gain valuable field experience with soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling, as well as drilling and subcontractor oversight and aquifer testing. However, much of your time will be spent working with project teams to provide decision support for interesting groundwater-related projects. Examples of such activities include, but are not limited to, interpretation and visualization of data, groundwater flow and transport modeling, report writing, coordinating logistics for field activities, preparing content for technical presentations, developing scripts to facilitate data management and analysis, and working collaboratively with technical experts and clients to find the right solutions to their groundwater challenges.

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, groundwater hydrology, environmental engineering, civil engineering, or geotechnical engineering with a groundwater emphasis.
  • You must have a minimum of 2 years of groundwater consulting experience.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of basic principles of groundwater flow.
  • Familiarity with subsurface contaminant transport processes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • 3 to 7 years of groundwater consulting experience.
  • Master’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, groundwater hydrology, environmental engineering, civil engineering, or geotechnical engineering with a groundwater emphasis.
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain the license after gaining enough professional experience.
  • Experience working with ArcGIS software.
  • Proficiency with a computer programming language, such asPython.
