Job Purpose
As a Senior Associate in Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCSS), you will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate the complexities of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. Your work will involve but not limited to working in a team, advising clients on how to integrate sustainability into their operations, manage climate-related risks and comply with evolving regulations. You will be part of a team that provides insights on sustainability strategies, climate change mitigation, decarbonisation and sustainability reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of climate change and sustainability issues, analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Some Areas of Responsibilities
- Lead and support client engagements focused on climate change and sustainability strategies.
- Develop and deliver sustainability assessments, strategies, and action plans.
- Advise clients on climate risk management, carbon footprint reduction, and sustainability reporting.
- Sustainability Reporting:
- Assist clients in developing sustainability reports in line with international frameworks (e.g., GRI, TCFD, SASB, ISSB).
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and reporting standards.
- Provide guidance on integrating sustainability metrics into financial and non-financial reporting.
- Conduct climate risk assessments, including scenario analysis and climate resilience planning.
- Advise clients on regulatory requirements related to climate change, including disclosures and compliance.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and implement sustainability strategies that align with their business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for clients to reduce their environmental impact and improve sustainability performance.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, regulators, investors, and community groups.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and presentations to build capacity on sustainability issues.
- Stay updated on global trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability and climate change.
- Conduct research on emerging sustainability issues and provide insights to clients and internal teams.
- Support business development activities, including proposal writing, client presentations, and market analysis.
- Identify new opportunities for service offerings and help expand the firm’s sustainability practice.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Change, Engineering, Geography or related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, SASB) are highly desirable.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in sustainability consulting, climate change advisory, or a related field.
- Proven track record of delivering sustainability projects, preferably in a consulting environment.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, TCFD, SASB, ISSB).
- Experience with climate risk assessment tools and methodologies.
- Proficiency in data analysis, environmental modeling, or carbon accounting software.
