The Role:
The Hardware Validation Engineer will be a member of the hardware validation team with responsibilities for the test and validation of the analog, digital, and embedded sub-systems for products. This will require close cooperation with the design and factory teams. You will work at the integrated circuit and product systems level and drive the quality bar for the to ensure the products we ship are bug free.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will:•Research into test/validation technologies/methodologies
•Work with design teams to develop validation plans
•Manage and drive external partners to do validation measurements
•Execute a portion of the hands-on validation
•Write scripts to automate tests
•Provide functional verification of electrical subsystems
•Debug/tune of custom hardware
•Drive debug and root cause efforts while working cross-functional design teams external EMS partners
•Qualify trade-offs/user impact while debugging and resolving issues
•Report validation status to cross-functional teams and leadership
•Travel to EMS partner labs to support validation activities (estimated 30%)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, related field or equivalent job experience
- 7+ years of overall experience in validation/test experience
- Experience in driving validation requirements and delivering test plans for complex consumer electronics devices
- Experience in failure analysis and troubleshooting skills in a laboratory environment
- Experience with prototyping solution, bench testing methodology and schematic capture and PCB design tools
- Experience with test automation with background in scripting
- Experience working in a laboratory environment
- Experience with EE fundamentals
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience with audio, power supplies, video, cameras, I2C/SPI/UART buses, and high speed electrical signal characterization
- Experience with memory technologies, battery powered, wireless, embedded HW/SW consumer devices
