As a Network Development Engineer, you will help solve a variety of technical challenges and mentor other engineers. You will play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You will help invent new features, design, develop and deploy reliable distributed services. You will work with a variety white box networking hardware and Linux based networking operating systems.You will tackle challenging situations every day and you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems. * Leading development and maintenance of key system features
* Working with other team members to investigate design approaches
* Prototyping designs and testing them with teammates
* Create simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality
* Working in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality designs against accelerated schedulesAbout the team
The Just Walk Out (JWO) Networking team is responsible for the hardware and software systems deployed to physical stores to support the seamless shopping experience that is Just Walk Out. As a Network Development Engineer working in AWS Apps / JWO Stores you will have end to end ownership developing our network architecture, hardware, and software. We are looking for individuals who are not satisfied with the status quo, and look to push the limits of technology. You will create new solutions to solve new customer challenges, streamline operations and enhance the reliability of our networks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Are enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree within last 12 months
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies
- 1+ years Unix/Linux command line experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java or Perl
- Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture and core technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Server Load Balancers, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, NFS, etc.
