The Customer Engineering hardware team provides hardware support to all customers using Qualcomms system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. This includes technical support throughout all phases of the design cycle. From product introduction to design review to production issues. Customer engineering also bridges customer requirements with internal plan of record, identify gaps in requirement, and propose solutions to mitigate the gaps.
The responsibilities of this role include:
Provide hardware design support to customers using Qualcomms SoC solutions.
Research and answer a wide range of in-depth technical questions on Qualcomm SoC, baseband topics, and its associated peripherals.
Resolve technical problems with the application of products via hands-on trouble shooting.
Perform block diagram, schematic, parts placement, and PCB routing reviews on customer platforms, including DDR and Power Delivery simulation.
Aid customers to implement new technology using Qualcomm solutions.
Optimize customers system thermal and power as well as BOM reduction.
Create and maintain hardware documentation and design collaterals.
Provides timely and accurate answers to common customer inquiries.
Identifies customer problems and works with manager and/or project leads to recommend solutions.
Guides customers through the process of using schematics and layout tools and/or platforms.
Performs root cause analyses on basic customer problems to identify underlying issue.
Communicates essential technical information to be leveraged by sales and marketing teams.
Participates in and represents customer perspectives in design or project reviews and project meetings.
Seeks advanced knowledge of hardware, chip design, end-applications, markets served, and related software products.
Assists in the creation of multiple sections in technical documentation.
Assists in demonstrating Qualcomm products and offerings to customers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors/Masters – Electronics and communication preferred
Work Experiences:
6 years’ experience working in a large matrixed organization or 8+ years Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the design and production of HW baseband systems and circuits for highly integrated SoC and RF IC.
Familiarity with complex multi-layered PCB design, schematic, and layout.
Self-motivated and works well with large interdisciplinary hardware teams.
Flexible, self-starting and tenacious with initiative to resolve complex customer problems.
Experience in integration, debug and problem reproduction on internal and customer platforms.
Experience in coding desirable
Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Master's/bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
7- 9yrs of relevant experience
