Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exemplify as a strong Full Stack Software Engineer for the Flash Business Unit.

  • Write efficient, reliable, maintainable, and defect-free code. Design and implement software to meet and exceed business objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver innovative software solutions to address user requirements.

  • Participate and contribute to software development practices such as spec and code review.

  • Remain insatiably curious about emerging technologies and incorporate them into your software development practices.

  • Exhibit adaptability and flexibility in handling evolving project requirements and technology landscapes.

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities to address complex technical challenges.

  • Proactively identify and implement effective software solutions to ensure project success.

  • Be a go-getter and be technically unbounded.

Required:

  • Strong technical leadership in driving projects from start to finish and demonstrating the ability to lead a team in designing, architecting, and implementing application solutions for internal or external users.

  • Experience in Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Experience in DevOps including developing and managing CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience in developing application software through its lifecycle from use case framing, prototyping, development, and containerized deployment.

  • Exceptional ability to shape and share technical execution plans with stakeholders.

  • 5+ years’ experience in software development, algorithms, and data structures with a strong proficiency in one or more languages such as Python, Golang, Ruby, C++, C#.

  • 5+ years’ experience in web application development using cross-platform technologies, like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (Vue, React, Angular) / TypeScript.

  • Experience with transactional databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.

  • Experience with RESTful, GraphQL, or other APIs.

  • Bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred:

  • 8+ years’ experience in software design/architecture/development, algorithms, and data structures practitioner expertise in one or more system languages such as Java, Python, Golang, C++, C#.

  • Demonstrable catalogue of full-stack application development exhibiting necessary proficiency in paradigms such as microservices, containerization, synchronous & asynchronous messaging, event-driven architecture.

  • Master's degree, in Computer Science, or a related field.

Skills:

  • Strong problem solving & decision-making.

  • Strong knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JS (Node.js, React, Angular).

  • Strong knowledge of system language such as Java, Python, Golang, C++, C#, Rust, etc.

  • Good software development, decision making, and adaptability/flexibility.

  • Working knowledge of data analytics, big data technologies, and ETL.

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
