The Associate Application Engineer will perform one or more of the following tasks related to Acacia’s world-class optical products as a member of the Acacia department responsible for direct customer relationships. The individual will be assigned relevant work assignments to challenge them according to their current level of experience and capability.

  • Recreate real-world application environments in our optical lab to evaluate and verify customer issues
  • Develop creative workaround solutions to product limitations or bugs
  • Work with customers to help integrate Acacia’s products into their systems and networks
  • Work with the world’s leading systems and service providers to help build the networks of today and help define the networks of the future
  • Collaborate with team members to develop Python scripts that enable and manage system features
  • Address a broad range of technical disciplines, including electrical, optical, embedded SW, mechanical, and thermal.

Who You Are

  • You have great interpersonal and organizational skills
  • A solid general Engineering background
  • A healthy curiosity about how the physical layer of the internet works
  • Enjoys working with HW, SW, optics, or DSP
  • Enjoys working in a lab environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in electronic or electrical engineering or related field
  • Competed courses in Signals and Systems, ElectronicDesignand a Basic Programming Course
  • Knowledge of Python programming
  • Basic Analog Electrical engineering skills
  • Experience with electronic and/or optical system design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s program students
  • Coursework in optics or DSP
