Process Overview*

Global Finance was set up in 2007 as a part of the CFO Global Delivery strategy to provide offshore delivery to Line of Business and Enterprise Finance functions. The capabilities hosted include Accounts Payable, General Accounting & Reconciliations, Treasury Management Support on Capital, Liquidity and Balance Sheet Management, Management Reporting & Analysis, Research & Analytics, Financial Transaction Processing, Finance Systems Support & Regulatory reporting. Over the years, the scope of Global Finance has been expanded to include operations for other enterprise control functions like Human Resources and Risk and Compliance.

The GBS ECM team, which is part of the Treasury organization within CFO division, is a new capability that will support the ECM in delivering the Regulatory Capital calculations at both Bank of America (BAC) enterprise level and at standalone entity levels. This team will be responsible for developing, implementing and running the capital calculation for Securitization products and for upcoming GSIB capital requirements.

Job Description*

This role is for a model owner for quantitative models for required regulatory and economic capital for various market products including counterparty credit risk capital requirements. These models are co-owned with business and the resource will be responsible for (1) end to end understanding of these models and capital requirements coming out of them under different scenarios, (2) working with business owners and model developers to get the required changes executed and (3) ensuring for timely completion all model governance and maintenance activities. It requires working closely with the ECM Markets team, the finance and business partners, model development team and 2 LOD partners.

Responsibilities*

  • Be the ECM owner for quantitative capital models owned jointly or solely by ECM team.
    • Ensuring end-to-end understanding of the model in both BAU and stressed scenarios, including its risks, mitigations and limitations
    • Liaise and coordinate with model co-owners and model developers for changes required
    • Manage all model management and governance life cycle events

Requirements*

Post-graduate degree in maths/stats/quants

Experience Range*

10+ years of which at least 5 years in relevant roles i.e. capital modelling - economic capital or regulatory capital

Foundational skills*

  • Strong quantitative modelling background
  • Deep understanding of economic capital models and US/Basel 3 capital rules
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and breakdown into simple process components.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, ability to build strong rapport, respect and trust with key stakeholders and constituents.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced, every-changing, highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and good with numbers
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (particularly MS Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint)

Desired skills

  • Knowledge of Banking and Capital market products
  • Experience in working with large datasets
  • Report analysis, design, and development
