Job Summary:

In this role, you will have responsibility for executing upon assigned operational excellence initiatives which could include, strategic assessments, operational assessments, process analysis, opportunity identification, lean strategy and deployment, workshop facilitation, improvement execution, and control plan development and management, coordinate strategic planning, including goal and objective development for designated value streams, operating units or business segments. Identify and improve critical processes necessary to achieve annual targets. Assist in the development of strategic plans for driving transformation and remediation initiatives. Act as a catalyst for change and a driver of engagement for improvements. Provide leadership on strategic thinking and transformational processes to ensure established goals and objectives are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and support of the West Business System (WBS), with the goal of sustaining operational standards.
  • Develop robust, capable systems necessary to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the consistent and uniform application of OPEX tools.
  • Partner with functions to drive strategic initiatives and annual objectives with clear milestones and KPIs to achieve goals, and lean savings targets.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, coaching and mentoring to improvement leaders and manufacturing teams.
  • Plan and execute Kaizens focusing on critical processes.
  • Conduct Maturity Model assessments (gap analysis) and facilitate development of action plans.
  • Drive improvements in the Values Stream
  • Participate and /or organize monthly, quarterly and annually newsflash / knowledge sharing platforms across the Values Stream
  • Provide portfolio management support (milestone tracking, status reporting, value tracking, risk issue and escalation) for work streams.
  • Develop recommendations to create a transformation and remediation strategy and roadmap.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
  • Provide methods of reliably reporting the status of improvement metrics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Business, Engineering or other quantitative field
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience; within a regulated healthcare environment preferred
  • Min. 3-years’ experience as an Operational Excellence manager or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production/operations environment, utilizing Lean Principles; transactional Operational Excellence experience a plus

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have good interpersonal/leadership skills and be able to interface with all departments and team member levels.
  • Must have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Computer skills required including MS Office app., Mini-tab and other statistical software programs.
  • Must possess experience demonstrating and using Six Sigma/Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Install and control adequate protection of confidential information and documentation. Ensure that key operational and essential documentation files kept on computer or otherwise are properly backed up at all times. Restrict access to confidential information as required.
  • Work closely with other functions to maximize achievement through a cooperative environment.
  • Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.
  • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
