Art Director, Design Shop (Agency) Responsibilities
- Is a role model and mentor to artists and designers across all of Design Shop
- Collaborates closely with producers, art directors, designers, illustrators, and animators to deliver compelling work
- Provides feedback through a variety of methods to guide development of visual design artifacts and systems
- Works in collaboration with product teams to absorb knowledge, define opportunities, and develop concepts and treatments to bring ideas to life
- Works closely with the Product Designers and Content Strategists to implement the creative vision and brand identity consistently and within the desired frameworks of Facebook.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex, sometimes abstract, concepts clearly and persuasively
- Manages work streams in an organized way that guarantees on time delivery and a clear workflow.
- Collaborate with leadership both within Product teams and Design Shop
- Evangelize learnings from executions with product team partnerships with the Design Shop team to constantly improve the quality and effectiveness of our work
- Delivers content that’s delightful, beautiful, and clear and with a high level of finish and polish
- Understand and evangelize that good ideas come from anywhere and anyone
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as an Art Director at a creative agency or an in-house team
- High proficiency in art directing illustration & animation
- Experienced visual designer and systems thinker with tech experience
- Illustration expertise in a varied set of styles, with a understanding of color, composition and digital production
- Experience developing illustration concepts for motion and a desire for telling universal stories
- Online portfolio showcasing relevant work is required (Include link on your resume)
- An understanding of how to incorporate research insights into the work
- Experience to set aside ego, and take design feedback and incorporate it
- Possesses a curiosity for the why and the how before the what
- Demonstrated experience to create quality work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at a time
- Proven presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Empathetic with the experience to design for a global audience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Figma a plus
- Experience with illustration systems at scale, ie. brand guidelines
- Experience in people management for art teams

$147,000/year to $205,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
