Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work with cross functional teams for understanding mechanical design and process challenges and setting cosmetic and dimensional requirements. Communicate requirements to vendors for establishing publications of needed quality reports through development to ramp phases. Drive experiments for understanding mechanical capabilities and root cause any process drifts or new defects. Collect and review factory data for ensuring quality of high volume mass production. Process data using statistical software for understanding trends over time. Identify mechanical inspection requirements and determining inspection frequency and methods in mass production. Develop all necessary tools (e.g., gauges, automated inspection equipment) and qualifying equipment using statistical methods. Work with vendors on site in Asia to resolve issues on the factory floor. International Travel Required: 25%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,200 - $227,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Experience and/or education must include:
  • Utilizing Statistics for Engineers to run DOE, and multivariate analysis.
  • Applying JMP (Software) to analyze data.
  • Developing high speed automation inspection equipment to enable high volume production.
  • Developing new manufacturing and inspections to create complex parts.
  • Utilizing Design of Experiments (DOE) to identify the optimum process parameters and improved the yields, reliability and performance of the product.
  • Utilizing GD&T to guide design engineers on manufacturability of products.
  • Develop and implement inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics.
