  • pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship in Summer 2025.
  • Registered for or attending ICML (The International Conference on Machine Learning) 2024

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with statistical modeling and deep learning, especially with frameworks such asPyTorch,TensorfloworKeras.
  • Proficient coding in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C# or similar)
  • A background in data structures,algorithmsand analysis of algorithm complexity
  • Understanding of ML frameworks: TensorFlow,Keras,PyTorch, or Caffe
  • Understanding of big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or Cassandra.
  • Specialized experience in one or more of these areas: Natural Language Understanding, Neural Networks, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Large Language Models, Data Mining, Machine Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence) or related fields

The base pay range for this internship is USD $5,460 - $10,680 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $7,040 - $11,640 per month.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Responsibilities
  • You will gain expertise in one or more subareas of research and understand applicable research techniques. You’ll also gain deep knowledge of a service, platform, or domain, and become familiar with the latest industry trends and applied technologies.
  • You will apply strategies provided by team members and incorporate state-of-the-art research. You’ll also develop an understanding of methods used in the community and gain expertise in a deeply specialized area.
  • As you reinforce a positive environment by applying best practices, you will also support mentorship and assist with the onboarding of entry-level team members. Additionally, you will maintain ties with an external network of peers and identify prospective talent, when asked.
  • You will document work in progress and share findings to promote innovation within a group. You’ll also learn and follow ethics and privacy policies while executing research processes or collecting information.
