Job responsibilities
- Drive cloud native and designed for failure architectures across the Data Lakehouse implementation
- Automate and streamline Cloud infrastructure processes and DevOps tasks while improving self-service capabilities using public cloud platform (AWS) and open-source technologies
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of application developers, engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions
- Maintain performance, security, and availability of production data platform to achieve 99.99% uptime
- Strategize and build automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD) using Shell/Python scripts or tools like Jenkins, Terraform and Spinnaker
- Configure observability dashboards with automated alerts and monitoring and act on any outages/incidents
- Promote security best practices and principles to ensure that the infrastructure and data is secured all the time
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advance level experience in one or more programming language(s) such as C++, Java, Python, Unix Shell
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods and agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, data lifecycle, database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, SQL/relational data models, RDS, Oracle and/or Databricks
- Proficient in REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Proficient knowledge of linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
