Job responsibilities

  • Drive cloud native and designed for failure architectures across the Data Lakehouse implementation
  • Automate and streamline Cloud infrastructure processes and DevOps tasks while improving self-service capabilities using public cloud platform (AWS) and open-source technologies
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of application developers, engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions
  • Maintain performance, security, and availability of production data platform to achieve 99.99% uptime
  • Strategize and build automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD) using Shell/Python scripts or tools like Jenkins, Terraform and Spinnaker
  • Configure observability dashboards with automated alerts and monitoring and act on any outages/incidents
  • Promote security best practices and principles to ensure that the infrastructure and data is secured all the time
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advance level experience in one or more programming language(s) such as C++, Java, Python, Unix Shell
  • Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods and agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, data lifecycle, database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases​, SQL/relational data models, RDS, Oracle and/or Databricks
  • Proficient in REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
  • Proficient knowledge of linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
