Your Role
The role manages design, development and deployment of standardized test architecture, test towers, test software in partnership with supplier resources for PCBAs & high-level electromechanical assemblies.
Responsibilities:
Leading the execution of large-scale projects that drive global sourcing strategies to deliver strategic supplier initiatives for an optimized total cost, quality & sustainable test strategy. Specifically be a lead engineer in designing and deploying a standardized, global strategy for reusbale, standardized, automated test tower architecture for PCBAs & HLAs.
Responsible for resolving all technical challenges during the transfer process, which includes resolving product specification challenges, consulting with subject matter experts to guide suppliers for test development, reverse engineering as needed to help drive test development, driving design review workshops, develop test fixtures , etc.
Conduct all required test lab activities to support architects in deploying strategy
Responsible for supplier quality performance in assigned projects to improve test set-up within Philips as well as schedule & cost as it relates to test fixtures.
Responsible to ensure product requirements are fully defined to enhance quality, using test strategy, during transfer projects.
Qualification Profile:
Hands-on design experience for electronics modules such as PCBAs and related high level assemblies is preferred with experience in mixed signal, low complexity, flex cable design and signal integrity.
Experience in design cycle of high tech electronic components, assemblies, and/or electro-mechanical systems
LabVIEW Software Certified Architects/Developers are required
TestStand Software Architects are preferred with experience in maintaining common process model
Test system development background in a high volume mfg environment is a must
Medical device test system validation experience and associated documentation is preferred
Test system hardware architecture experience to design the common test tower and make it work on 120V or 220V
Extensive experience in board layout for gerber, schematics, drawing generation and parts library creation. This requires specific knowledge of CAD tools such as Mentorgrapics or equivalent
Exposure to outsource mechanical designs of the custom test fixtures for PCBAs with strategic suppliers
National Instruments PXI hardware instrumentation experience and mass interconnect experience is required
Pneumatics actuator experience for electromechanical fixture design is preferred
Hands-on experience with tools such as oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, frequency counters, programmable power supplies, soldering equipment, high power microscope with light attachments, etc is required
Strong project management skills preferred with supplier project teams and influence internal cross-functional stakeholders is required
Education/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years’ experience in a high-tech industry with a focus on working with global EMS/PCBA suppliers for design changes & product launches
PMP or Six Sigma certification highly desired
