Job Area:

Role and Responsibilities

  • Reporting into Front-End RTL team

  • Improve Performance, Power and Area for the next generation NPU/DSP

  • Work with microarchitecture team to understand specifications and design trade offs

  • Good understanding of synth, place & route, timing and power tools to validate implement, area, timing and power

  • Perform Synth, Place & Route on the designs using industry standard tools ( such as RTL-Architecture/FC) for front-end study

  • Work with implementation team on Floorplanning, Clock and power distribution, Place and Route and all aspects of timing improvement

  • Work with power teams to analyze power and make recommendations for power reduction across architecture and gate-level design.

  • Work with the IP design teams to analyze the standard cell and memory/custom hard-IP offerings and recommend usage to the FE/PD teams.

Preferred qualification

  • Fast learner and highly motivated to solve technical challenges with innovation.

  • Prefer 3-7+ years of design implementation experience, including: Knowledge of CPU architecture and logic design principles, physical design experience with synth, place and route, timing, power, and timing.

  • Proficient in Verilog and/or System Verilog and scripting languages.

  • Ability to analyze critical paths and power and guide RTL designs to optimal solutions.

  • Analytical & data mining skills to draw conclusions from large amounts of data.

  • Strong verbal/communication skills; ability to work effectively with various functional teams and drive task to completion.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

• 2+ years of experience with high-performance microprocessor design.

Pay range:

$148,000.00 - $222,000.00
