Your key responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and oversee audit engagements in compliance with PCAOB standards and SOX requirements, ensuring quality and effective project management.
  • Lead and mentor audit team members, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
  • Maintain current knowledge of changes in audit regulations and accounting standards, including PCAOB updates and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients to understand their business, risks, and controls, tailoring audit plans to their specific environment.
  • Review financial statements and audit workpapers to ensure they meet professional and regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Present audit findings and recommendations to clients and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines, with a focus on client service and quality deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Contribute to the firm's business development activities and internal initiatives.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • CPA or equivalent designation required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of audit experience in a public accounting firm with significant SOX and PCAOB exposure.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing audit engagements and teams.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting, and financial statement presentation.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including proficiency in US auditing standards and practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients and team members at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to meet client commitments.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
  • This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore a requirement of this role.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Additional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CIA can be a plus.
  • Experience with Big 4 firm preferred.
  • Specialized industry experience in Energy, Telecommunications, Mining, or Financial Services
