What to Expect
The Manufacturing Automation Development Engineering team is looking for an extremely organized and detail-oriented Semi-Truck Procurement Specialist to support project hardware procurement strategies and processes. The Semi-Truck Procurement Specialist will work within a cross-functional team of engineers and engineering technicians to procure hardware against project deadlines, track purchase orders, receive, organize, and prepare materials for semi-truck equipment builds. You will interact with vendors to select the best pricing and lead time in accordance with project budgets and timelines, ensuring on-time delivery of components. The Procurement Specialist will also work closely with our shop planner to pick up, receive, organize, and store materials in preparation for project builds, and to maintain our inventory system.
What You’ll Do
  • Quote and procure materials and hardware for semi-truck projects
  • Review and select the best procurement options
  • Track purchase orders and the delivery of components, challenging suppliers to expedite delivery dates to meet critical semi-truck project timelines
  • Collect materials and packages from general receiving areas for processing of goods receipts
  • Responsible for receiving, organizing, and stocking materials, as well as updating our inventory systems and semi-truck project BOM trackers
  • Pull BOM components from inventory and project cages to make kits required for the mechanical and electrical assembly of semi-truck projects, and deliver these kits to the respective build areas
  • Help maintain the 5S standards of the team's critical spares inventory space and semi-truck project cages
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience with warehouse and inventory processes and systems
  • Ability to operate a walkie rider, forklift, and other power industrial vehicles
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with procurement, MP, and inventory systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members effectively
