What you will do
You will be part of the team responsible for our next generation Ingress organized around the community driven Gateway API specification.
You will code and deliver Ingress solutions for OpenShift; this may include upstream contributions and downstream integration and testing
You will assist with the development and delivery of new functionality for OpenShift Ingress solutions, as well as the debugging and maintenance of said components.
You will ultimately be an OpenShift expert on all things in this space , from helping decide the most effective frameworks to focus on, to integrating the right ecosystem of modules needed to complete the developer experience.
You are an inquisitive self-driven person, but one who is inclusive of others and more than willing to help make them successful.
You will liaise between multiple teams within Red Hat as well as with the open source community; thus you are well spoken and have excellent written English language skills which will be used to communicate with other open source community members, OpenShift engineers, Product Managers, and management located across the globe.
What you will bring
Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of Kubernetes.
Familiarity with OpenShift is considered an advantage.
Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, encryption methodologies, and DNS protocols.
Proficiency in working with HAProxy, CoreDNS, and Envoy Proxy.
Skilled in network debugging, employing tools and methodologies to resolve issues effectively.
Experience with Gateway API upstream specifications and downstream implementations, particularly Istio.
A track record of working with large-scale cloud-based architectures and deployment techniques.
Familiarity with upstream communities and a solid understanding of their procedures.
