Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer II, you will solve technical challenges related to large-scale data integration, real-time data access, and privacy-preserving personalization. You'll play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. Specific responsibilities include:1. Design and develop highly scalable and reliable distributed services for real-time data access and integration across multiple Amazon platforms.
2. Implement sophisticated server-side filtering and querying capabilities to ensure efficient and relevant data retrieval.
3. Create standardized APIs and data models to enable seamless data sharing and utilization across diverse business units.
4. Develop and optimize systems for handling both offline and online data access, including real-time event processing and batch data analysis.
5. Implement robust privacy controls and compliance measures to ensure data protection and regulatory adherence.7. Work on innovative solutions for standardizing product and offering identifiers across different Amazon services.
8. Contribute to the development of data feeds and reactor systems for real-time data enrichment and insight generation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
