Responsible for electrical service calls throughout the facilities and grounds. Performs all work in accordance with all state, federal, and local building and safety codes. Works under minimum supervision.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Repairs or replaces, installs, and tests electncal circuits, equipment, and appliances using hand tools and test equipment.
-Inspects and tests lighting, signal, and power circuits and wiring for appropriate shielding and grounding.
-Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit Cuts wire and conduit to length Installs, repairs, or replaces switch boxes, light bulbs, plugs, sockets, light fuses, and extension cords.
-Disassembles motors, generators, and other equipment in preparation for repair.
-Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment.
-Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other components of electrical systems, Install motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures. Locates and determines electrical malfunctions; works from blueprints, drawings, layout, or other specifications Tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency.
-Troubleshoots electrical systems using ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, testing lamps, or circuit tracing equipment.
-Assists senior level facilities engineers on specific assignments.
-May train and/or assist lower-level Maintenance Electricians.
-May also be responsible for other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervision.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-Requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical trades with a broad knowledge equivalent to training received under a formal registered apprenticeship program, may work from detailed drawings, schematics, sketches, and diagrams.
-Must have the ability to use a broad variety of electrical test equipment.
-May assign and check work of lower-level personnel.
-May be required to drive company vehicle or personal vehicle between buildings as necessary.
-Valid and current CA driver’s license required.
-Must have a working knowledge of computer programs as related to electrical maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of Maintenance Technician or related work experience.

Pay range:
$24.96 - $37.44
