Shape your career with Citi in Dublin. Byjoining Citi, you will become part of a global organisation whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.

Citi has had a presence in Ireland since 1965, it was one of the first foreign banks to open an office in the country and is the Citibank Europe Plc Headquarters.

As a Credit Officer, you will oversee a portfolio of credit limits extended to funds, pension schemes, and asset management companies, providing opportunities to apply and further develop your credit risk management skills.

You will work mainly in the Counterparty Credit Risk space, so an ability to understand what is behind Potential Future Exposure and Stress numbers, what they do tell you and more importantly what they don't tell you, is crucial. You should have basic familiarity with first-order greeks, but we don't need you to know Black-Scholes or how to read a vol surface.

You also need to understand or quickly learn how the different products work, such as swaps, futures, and repo's, as well as the agreements that govern them such as ISDA/CSA, GMRA.

You need a good grounding in traditional corporate financial analysis, as you will have some unsecured RCF extended to the asset management companies in your portfolio as well.

You will work with some of Citi's most significant clients, demanding a high level of service and adherence to strict standards. We operate with service-level agreements and tight deadlines for decision-making. The fast-paced environment, characterised by a high volume of time-sensitive approvals, requires proactive individuals who thrive under pressure and prioritise timely completion of tasks.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You will collaborate closely with the ICM team, reviewing and approving their recommendations. This requires holding the ICM team accountable to high standards while navigating potential disagreements diplomatically and professionally.

What you’ll do

  • Assume responsibility for a dedicated portfolio of credit relationships.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of new counterparties (funds) for credit approval.
  • Review and approve annual reviews for existing credit relationships.
  • Provide daily oversight of continuous monitoring activities, including:
  • Monitoring credit limits and triggers (e.g., potential future exposure, stress, sensitivity, facility amount, initial margin).
  • Identifying and addressing red flags such as failed settlements and disputed margin calls.
  • Review terms and conditions during documentation negotiation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of procedures.

What we’ll need from you

  • Experience in Credit Risk Management.
  • Familiarity with Counterparty Credit Risk measurement, traded products and markets.
  • Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
  • CFA designation is a plus.
