As part of the Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) practice you will provide a well-integrated broad array of risk management and regulatory advisory services to financial institutions with a focus on regulatory compliance
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant/Senior Consultant in the FSRM team, you will be leading EY services in the market through business development, sales, project planning and high-quality project execution. You will be leading projects relating to:
- Compliance Frameworks – understanding of core compliance functions and related technology applications addressing compliance risk assessment, policy management, testing, monitoring and surveillance and reporting
- Regulatory gap assessments and remediation
- Provide updates to the industry on the latest relevant laws and regulations required for the financial institutions
- Advice and guidance on structuring approaches to emerging regulatory compliance or regulatory exam findings
- Regulatory change management including planning and communication with regulators
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Strong understanding of and practical experience related to regulatory requirements across various market activities of FIs such as:
- Banking Act, SFA, FAA, underlying regulations, and SGX rules
- Institutional / Investment banking compliance topics and issues relevant to capital markets activity including conflicts of interest, information barriers, insider trading, restricted trading / control room processes, market abuse and conduct
- Private banking / wealth management compliance related to key topics regarding suitability, sales practices, new product processes, or client money
- Retail / consumer banking compliance incl. consumer protection, conduct, treating customers fairly, mortgage and consumer lending regulation
- Knowledge of insurance and/or banking products, market conventions and sales practices
- Regulatory requirements related to enterprise risk management such as capital adequacy, stress testing, or risk governance
- Ability to develop and implement practical client solutions and execute projects based on key compliance principles
- Strong interpersonal and teaming skills
- Effective leadership, project management and teamwork skills
- Strong presentation skills and proficiency in the use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 3 years or more relevant experience relevant risk management domain, a few years of which in a consulting firm for Senior Consultant role. Candidate with fewer/more years of relevant experience will be considered for a junior/senior role.
- Graduate or Post Graduate degree in Economics, Banking and Finance, Computational Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or equivalent preferred
- Industry related certification is a plus (e.g., FRM, CPA/ CA, CFA)
